Missions:

Mission information going on around the world.

North American Mission Board

Why Every Church Must Plant
Throughout the Bible we see a clear pattern of God calling and sending His followers. And God wants to send you as well. As believers, we are a people sent by God to carry the message of God’s love, mercy and redemption through His son Jesus Christ. That is missions at its core.

The question then becomes how do we best go about carrying that message. We believe the evidence is clear we are sent to reach new people best through starting new churches. Through a coordinated national strategy we call Send North America, our goal is to help move churches and individuals into all regions of North America to do just that.

Southern Baptist Convention

For almost 170 years, Southern Baptists have sought to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people everywhere. The Southern Baptist Convention was formed with a Gospel vision. Its founding charter identifies its singular focus: ...for the purpose of eliciting, combining, and directing the energies of the Baptist denomination of Christians, for the propagation of the Gospel...

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has grown to be a network of more than 50,000 cooperating churches and church-type missions banded together to make an impact of God's Kingdom. While no two Southern Baptist churches are alike, there are certain commonalities that bind Southern Baptists together, regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic status, language, or locale. What we offer here is an overview to help tell the story of what God is doing in and through the people called Southern Baptists.

The Baptist Home

The Baptist Home's ministry covers three areas of focus: resident care, educational development and global outreach. Through these three areas The Baptist Home is able to achieve its mission of reaching and ministering to aging humanity.

The Pathway

Our PurposeThe Pathway is published bi-weekly by the Missouri Baptist Convention and endeavors to cover not only the events that affect Baptists in Missouri but also the Southern Baptist Convention as a whole and evangelical Christians everywhere. The Online Pathway, exists to quickly provide information and breaking news to MBC churches. Journal content will include reports on the activities of Missouri Baptist churches, actions of the MBC Executive Board and its committees, activities and programs of the MBC Executive Board staff, and activities and board actions of MBC affiliated agencies and institutions. The journal will facilitate Kingdom growth and promote unity in the MBC.

The Baptist Press

Baptist Press (BP) is the official news service of the Southern Baptist Convention and is headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Baptist Press is responsible for providing regular news releases about Southern Baptists, serving as the Convention's press representative, and coordinating news operations for annual meetings of the Southern Baptist Convention. Baptist Press provides news service to the 42 state Baptist papers.

The service was originally formed at the suggestion of the editors of the state convention newspapers in 1946. Since then, it has grown into the largest religious news service in the United States. State papers reprint stories and opinion pieces from Baptist Press to inform Baptists in the respective states about the news those editors deem significant for their readers. Recognizing its role to serve the broader evangelical community, Baptist Press seeks to carry stories and report news that is of interest to numerous likeminded evangelical readers.

Baptist Press also provides weekly news and opinion for the Hispanic Baptist community through BPEE (Baptist Press en Español), a separate webpage linked directly to baptistpress.com and carried on the front page of BP each Friday.

Baptist Press is supported by contributions from Southern Baptists to the SBC Cooperative Program.
